In September 2009, Governor Patrick cut $1 million from Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Line Item 4510-0810, which funds MACA, CACs, SANE, and Pediatric SANE services for child victims of sexual assault. MACA responded to this devastating and disproportionate cut to victim services with legislative alert newsletters.
Supporters like you contacted their legislators and asked why child victims were being asked to bear the burden of budget cuts. And thanks to the YOU and your support and advocacy, the Governor restored the full $1 million to the SANE Line Item.
